INTERNSHIP AND PLACEMENT
There are two compulsory internships in the first year.
Semester 1: Winter internship in Development Communication internship with an NGO/CSR department (Oct-Nov, for 1 month) – to sensitise them to human living conditions and grassroots-issues
Semester 2: Summer internship in Advertising, Public Relations, Events, Print or Television Journalism, Radio, Television Production – to allow the students to gain exposure in their chosen career field
Final Placements will commence at the end of the third semester, allowing students to take up jobs from their fourth semester itself. Since a majority of the students have taken bank loans it will help them to earn and repay their loans faster.
Philosophy of Commits with respect to placements:
Commits believes that an educational institution is not a placement agency. To this effect Commits aims not to place students but to make students placement-worthy and industry-ready. Commits creates real-life work situations at college to prepare students to face the challenges of the real world. Students get offers from leading media organisations based on their performance during the internship. Commits students are always appreciated for their grasp of the subject, alertness, hard work and comprehensive skill sets.
Commitscons have done internships and work with all leading newspapers, television channels, FM radio stations, television and film production houses, advertising agencies, PR and event management companies and NGOs in India and abroad.
All internships will be arranged by college. Students have to submit project reports and face an external viva voce at the end of their internships, and the marks will be sent to the university.
