The XIXth GlobCom Symposium was completely online, organized by Vilnius University in Lithuania, from May 27 to May 29. The topic this year was “Public Relations for Place Branding after COVID-19: the Lithuania Narrative.”
The symposium saw nine international student teams pitch their projects for the client organization, Lithuanian PR professionals and GlobCom teachers from 15 participating Universities.
It started with a brief e-get-together and reviewing of the presentations, allowing student teams to revise and edit their work based on expert opinions and advice. Then, based on the revised projects, the judges selected 3 finalists – TEAM 2, TEAM 3 and TEAM 4 – to present their projects to the client.
After the final pitch, the Grand Jury, comprising GlobCom Board members, TEAM 3 was chosen as the winner of #GlobCom2020! This year, the winning team, had two extremely efficient members from Commits, who worked under the guidance of our HoD of Marketing Communication, Prof. Ranjini Rao: Oishi Das (Deputy Global Leader) and Tanmana Pal (Tech Support Lead). We are extremely proud of them!
Overall, this year’s GlobCom edition wasn’t an easy project for our students, who had to work under extraordinary, trying circumstances. We are really proud of all our students who participated in this special edition of the project, and gave it their best! Kudos to all for a job well done!
